Windows 2000 Dial Up Settings 1.Click on Start, choose Settings, then ‘Network and Dial-up Connections', click on 'Make New Connection'. This will start the Network Connection Wizard. 2. Click Next. Make sure that the box ‘Dialup to the Internet is checked. Click Next. 3. Make sure that the sentence ‘I want to set up my internet connection manually or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)’ is ticked. 4. Then click Next and click ‘I connect through a phone line and a modem’. 5. When the window pops up, enter the phone number found on your setup sheet. (If you do not know it call our Support Line on 493601/493602 for further help ). Also make sure that the Area Code is empty and that the country code is Malta (356); 6. Click Next and enter your username and password, then click Next again. 7. As a Connection Name, type in Global Net and click Next. 8. In the next window you will be asked if you want to set up your e-mail account now. 9. Click Yes if you would like to set it up at that point in time with the settings that you have on the setup sheet. Click No to set up the e-mail account on a later stage. 10. If you've chosen No for the e-mail setup, then you can connect to the Internet. Clear the checkbox if you don't want to connect to the Internet right now, then click Finish. |
