Frequent Line Disconnections


General Settings and When Password is not Accepted

1. Double click on 'My Computer'

2. Double click on 'Dial-Up Networking'

3. Right click and choose properties on our icon

4. Use area code and dialing properties should not be ticked

5. Click on server types

6. Logon to Network should be ticked

7. Enable Software Compression should be ticked

8. Tcp/Ip should be ticked

9. Click on Tcp/Ip settings

10. You should have these ticked :

Server assigned Ip Address

Server assigned Name Server Address

Use Ip Header Compression

Use Default Gateway on Remote Network


Line Disconnections and Line is Busy

1. Double click on 'My Computer'

2. Double click on 'Dial-Up Networking'

3. Right click and choose propertieson our icon

4. Use area code and dialing properties should not be ticked

5. Click on Configure

6. Maximum Speed should be 38400

7. Click on Connection

8. Click on Advanced

9. Under extra settings type in atx3s10=60s25=100

10. Click Ok and Ok again

11. Restart Computer and try again

Not Answering

1. Double click on 'My Computer'

2. Double click on 'Dial-Up Networking'

3. Right click and choose propertieson our icon

4.Use area code and dialing properties should not be ticked

5. Click on Configure

6. Click on Connection

7. Click on Advanced

8. Under extra settings type in atx3s10=60s11=120

9. Click Ok and Ok again

10.Restart Computer and try again

No Dial Tone

1. Double click on 'My Computer'

2. Double click on 'Dial-Up Networking'

3. Right click and choose properties on our icon

4. Click on Configure

5. Click on Connection

6. Wait for Dialing Tone before Dialing should be switched off

7. Click Ok and Ok again

8. Restart Computer and try again

Accounts Not Configured or Cannot Find Server in Mail

1. Open'Outlook Express'

2. Click on 'Tools'

3. Click on 'Accounts'

4. Click on 'Mail'

5. Under account highlight everything and click Remove

6. Click on Add

7. Click on Mail

8. Under Display Name type in your 'Full name'

9. Click Next and type in your 'E-mail address'

10. Click Next, both incoming and outgoing mail servers should be mail.global.net.mt

11. Click Next, under account name type in your login name

12. Click Next, under password type in your password

13. Click Next, Choose 'Connect Using A Modem'

14. Click Next , Choose 'Our connection'

15. Click Finish

16. Click OK and OK again

17. Restart 'Outlook Express' and try Again


Password Authentication in Mail

1. Open 'Outlook Express'

2. Click on 'Tools'

3. Click on 'Accounts'

4. Click on 'Mail'

5. Click on 'Properties'

6. Click on 'Servers'

7. The sentence 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication'should not be ticked

8. Click OK and OK

9. Close 'Outlook Express'

10. Restart 'Outlook Express' and try Again


The Page Cannot be Displayed or Cannot Open the Internet Site in Internet Explorer

1. Open 'Internet Explorer'

2. Click on 'Tools'

3. Click on 'Internet Options'

4. Click on 'Connections'

5. Click on 'Settings'

6. The sentence 'Use a proxy server' should be ticked

7. Click on Advance

8. Near Http: and Ftp: type in either -

9.proxy1.global.net.mt with 'Port 8080' on both protocols or

10.proxy2.global.net.mt with 'Port 8080' on both protocols or

11.proxy3.global.net.mt with 'Port 8080' on both protocols

12.Click OK and OK again

13.Restart 'Internet Explorer' and try Again
